Event Overview

This gathering is a satellite event to the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. The IGDA Foundation operates entirely remotely, making this event an important opportunity for alumni and community members to connect in person. Approximately 50–60 alumni are expected to attend. Photography will focus on documenting the event atmosphere, networking moments, and alumni community engagement.

Event Coverage Objective

Capture a comprehensive visual record of the event that reflects the energy of the alumni community and the IGDA Foundation brand.

Coverage should include:

  • Event decor and branded elements

  • Interior and exterior venue shots

  • Candid moments of guests networking and enjoying food

  • Small group portraits and posed photos

  • Alumni interactions and community moments

  • VIP guests and notable attendees

The goal is to produce a mix of storytelling, candid images, and polished event photos suitable for marketing, press, and future foundation communications.

“In the Box” Photo Station Objective

The “In the Box” Photo Station will create a collaborative alumni group photo concept.

Guests will step into a framed “box” setup individually to have their portrait taken. These images will later be stitched together in post-production to create a single large group composition featuring alumni from the event.

Goals:

  • Photograph as many alumni as possible (approx. 50–60 participants)

  • Capture clean, consistent portraits within the box frame (set up shouldn’t change at all)

  • Ensure each participant receives their individual photo

  • Produce a final composite image intended for IGDA Foundation website and marketing use

The “In the Box” station will include:

  • Tent

  • Backdrop

  • Box frame

  • Camera on a tripod

  • Battery-operated studio light
